ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
ā
The tour starts from the storic center of the medieval village of Randazzo. Cycling along the main street we will cross three important squares to take a look of three ancient churches built in different periods and with different styles. We will stop in the street of the Uffizi, splendid alley in lava stone that connects the town hall square with the church of San Nicolò. After passing one of the gates of the old walls, we will continue on a state road towards the Gurrida lake.

Before reaching the lake we will passing by a unique example of native submerged vineyard.

Reached the shores of the beautiful basin, we will stop to explain some aspects of this naturalistic site. The lake formed after a catastrophic eruptions of Etna, the lava flow came by this eruption created a barrier of the river Flascio. Another characteristic of this site is a big presence of a lot species of birds that makes it a perfect place for birdwatching.

From the shores of the lake you can enjoy a wonderful view, and while Etna is reflected in the water, we will cycling along a beautiful path that circumnavigates the basin. After a stop to admire the place and listen the beautiful birdsong, we will get back to the village of Randazzo.
